American students abroad · SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP

An American education does not pause when your family moves abroad.

Online SAT, ACT, PSAT and AP tutoring for American students living overseas, from a tutor in the United States who already teaches across the Atlantic every week.

Why families abroad work with me

Your student is preparing for US college admissions from a long way away.

International schools teach well, but few are built around the SAT, the ACT or the US application calendar. I fill that gap, and I keep you informed while I do it.

A US tutor who knows the US path

I prepare students for the tests and courses American colleges expect, and I explain the timeline to parents in plain terms.

Lessons in your time zone

I teach students in Europe every week. The booking calendar shows every slot in your own local time.

Built for the digital SAT

The SAT is the same digital, adaptive test worldwide, taken in the Bluebook app. Preparation matches the test as it is now.

Parents kept informed

A diagnostic and written goals at the start, and an optional written progress report after every four sessions.

What I teach

From the PSAT to AP exams.

Every student starts with a diagnostic, so lessons go to the gaps that matter.

SAT and ACT

Full preparation for Reading and Writing and Math, with timed practice and a plan built back from your test date.

PSAT

Preparation for sophomores and juniors whose school offers the PSAT, including the October PSAT/NMSQT.

AP math and science

Course support through the year and exam preparation in the spring.

Core math and science

Algebra, geometry, trigonometry, chemistry and physics for students moving between school systems.

The Curiosity Method

Questions first. Then answers that last.

1

Wonder

Begin with a real question. Curiosity is the engine, so every topic starts with why it matters.

2

Probe

Find the exact gap. Diagnostic questions show where understanding breaks, not just which answers were wrong.

3

Build

Connect each idea to the last one. Students explain the reasoning in their own words before moving on.

4

Prove

Apply it under test conditions. Timed practice shows what has truly stuck, and sets the next lesson.

Kristen Amendola

I studied Economics and Mathematics at Columbia and mathematics at City College, where I was a student researcher, after graduating from Hopkins School. I am now at Harvard Extension School in computer science, moving to the joint master's in Data Science and AI.

I am a three-time Connecticut state foil champion, and I spent 17 years running New York restaurants, nine as an owner. Both taught me what I teach students: preparation beats nerves. My Connecticut Department of Education background check is on file.

Questions parents ask

Tutoring for American students abroad: the details

Can my student take the SAT outside the United States?

Yes. The digital SAT is offered at test centers in many countries, and it is the same test as in the US. Seats abroad can fill early, so register as soon as dates open. I help families plan the test date as part of the consultation.

How do lessons work across time zones?

Lessons are online on Google Meet. The booking calendar shows available times in your own time zone, and I teach students in Europe every week.

When should a student abroad start SAT preparation?

Three to four months before the first test date suits most students. Families abroad often start a little earlier, because there are fewer local test dates and seats to choose from.

Do you help with AP courses if the school does not offer them?

I teach AP math and science content and exam preparation. Your student will need to arrange an exam seat through a school or authorized test center that accepts outside candidates; I can explain how that works.

What does it cost?

SAT and ACT Premium starts from $120 an hour, and STEM coaching from $75 an hour, or from €55 in euros and £50 in pounds. SAT packages are also priced in euros (€950, €1,800, €2,550) and pounds (£850, £1,600, £2,250). Pairs and small groups cost less per student. You receive an exact quote after the free consultation.

Is everything taught in English?

Yes. All lessons, materials and reports are in English.
